Bridal Hair Trend: Braids

Braided hair_for webStuck on picking a hairstyle for the big day? This should be a simple task considering us girls have dreamed of our weddings all our lives, but it’s not. There are so many questions that factor into the perfect hairstyle: Has anyone done this look lately? Does this complement my dress? Does this style flatter my face?

Looking perfect on your wedding day is a must, and your hair is just as important as your dress. To make the decision a little easier, try and focus on the new trends using the many different styles the classic braid has to offer. Don’t let the word and the image of Pippi Longstocking scare you. The braid has been reinterpreted into chic, classy and even rustic looks.

Braids can add a twist to pretty much any hairstyle. If you’re thinking about keeping your hair down for the big day, the two-sided braid might be your style. For this boho-rustic look, part your hair into two sections in the front and braid each section back along your head until they come together in the middle of the back of your head. The amount of hair and style of braid you choose is totally up to you. Once the two braids meet, connect them with a hair tie or even braid them together. This technique creates a simple but pretty look that can even work with a veil.

If you’re leaning towards an updo, consider French braiding sections of hair from the side of your head leading into your ponytail or your bun. You could either wrap the braid around the bun or make the braid part of it. It makes a sleek and sophisticated looks and adds a little extra something unique instead of simply pulling it back.
