Tell us about your day: We were able to have a destination wedding for all of our guests right here in Rhode Island! All of our friends and family stayed in the lodges surrounding the lake at Whispering Pines. This was a fun, outdoorsy, rustic wedding meant to introduce our family and friends to our life in Rhode Island. Our weekend started off with a kickball game where the bride and groom’s friends played each other in one of the open fields near the lake. After the kickball game we had a traditional Rhode Island clam boil (with chorizo of course). Our colors for the weekend were yellow, gray and green and there were picnic tables draped in yellow picnic print scattered about at the rehearsal dinner. At the rehearsal dinner we had plenty of lawn games including human sized Jenga and cornhole that my husband made. On Saturday our guests canoed and hiked around the area and in the evening we had a beautiful outdoor ceremony along the lake. Our dog, Wrigley (a large lab mutt), of course played a role in the wedding! He looked sharp in his bow tie and leash that matched the bridesmaids and groomsmen. After the delicious dinner we had a local DJ that rocked it, and our friends couldn’t stop enjoying the photo booth.  To end the evening, each couple or family lit a lantern to float across the lake. We spent the entire weekend surrounded by our family who were able to relax and enjoy the Rhode Island summer weekend.
