Ashley: Waterfire to Winter Wonderland, the Lovebird Session
By Ashley Arnold
When I approached our amazing wedding photographer, Ryan DeVoll, with the concept of a split engagement session, he didn’t balk. When I suggested that the first session take place during a hectic and crowded Waterfire, he didn’t flinch. When I said that the photos would magically transport myself and my fiancé, Patrick, from summer to wintertime, he didn’t stutter.
Ryan, who dubs his engagement photos with his couples “Lovebird Sessions,” was on board with the idea right from the very beginning. I can’t lie, I was inspired by a photo shoot example that I saw on Pinterest, and I wanted to recreate the concept using things that are special to us and specific to Rhode Island.
Our Lovebird Session features some classic Waterfire images which you are sure to recognize, followed by some romantic snow-dusted images of Providence. If also feature some of our friends performing with TEN31 Productions, the original scroll that Patrick had presented to me the night he proposed, and some champagne, of course!
