How We Met:img_0380-002_sm

Chris and I met at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts in the Fall of 2012. We were inseparable from the moment we met. I knew since the first day we starting talking that Chris and I had something special. To this day, my favorite story was how Chris officially asked me to be his girlfriend. It was right before Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday) when Chris handed me a word search book. When I opened the book he told me to turn to page twenty.  To my surprise, Chris had inserted his own word search on that page. He had me find words that were important to us since we had starting talking that September. The last words for me to find on that page were “Will you be my girlfriend?” I will never forget turning to page twenty which also happened to be on November 20, 2012.

Our Proposal Story:

It was Friday, September 23, 2016. Things were going as usual when I got a call from Lexi, Chris’ little sister, asking if I would  want to grab coffee and have a girls night.  I was so excited for a girl’s night that I instantly started thinking about what we were going to do! She had also asked if we could make getting our nails done part of the girl’s night because she desperately needed a manicure. Thinking nothing of it, Lexi and I went to get our nails done and grab a coffee. When we got back to the house, something was different than when we had left. There was music playing and candles lit throughout the house. When I went to my room, there was a new dress, necklace and heals left out for me to put on and I was told to be ready to go in thirty minutes.

About thirty minutes later Chris arrived and picked me up to go out to dinner. He had a CD of our favorite love songs playing as we started driving towards Worcester. During the ride, Chris handed me that same word search book as he had given me the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. He told me we were going on a little adventure so I should turn to page twenty three and work on that page. Again, he had created his own word search which he had inserted into that page. I started looking for words that had meaning to us over the past four years and the last words to find were “Will you marry me?”

Chris made a few detours and we ended up at Moore State Park in Paxton, Mass. Chris and I had gone on a few dates here back in college.

When we got there, Chris asked if we could take a walk to our favorite area, the barn. As we walked over to the barn I noticed a little area decorated with mums and pumpkins. My heart began racing as we walked over to the spot he had decorated.  It was at that moment that Chris made me the happiest woman ever when he got down on one knee and said the words “will you marry me?”
