Brides Against Breast Cancer 1
By Gabby Barrella

Feeling the stress of finding the perfect dress? How would you like to get the gown of your dreams (a designer gown at that) for less than $800? Better yet, how would you feel knowing that part of the purchase price will be donated to programs that help breast cancer patients, their families and caregivers. Now, that sounds like a win-win.

The nonprofit organization Brides against Breast Cancer (BABC) sells thousands of new and carefully worn dresses and accessories every year. The dresses they sell are donated by bridal retailers, manufactures, designers and individuals. These designer and couture dresses vary in style, sizes range between four and eighteen, and prices range from $99 to $3,900.BABC_Logo_850px

Headquartered in Florida, BABC and its Nationwide Tour of Gowns raises two million dollars annually for breast cancer programs. BABC will host a charity show at the lovely Providence Hilton next weekend, May 16-17. A VIP ticket (a tax deductible $25 in advance, or $30 at the door) admits you and guest to Friday’s show, which runs from 6–9:30 p.m., and gives you first pick of the inventory, a sampling of light snacks and signature drinks. Saturday’s general admission tickets are $5 or $7 at the door (also tax deductible), and brides will be able to browse and shop gowns from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Not only is this a great cause, you might even walk out of the Hilton with a below-budget, drop-dead gorgeous couture gown in hand. To purchase tickets, or to learn more about the show, click here. Or, head to our Engaged Facebook page, where we’re GIVING AWAY five tickets, each good for one bride and a guest, to attend either the VIP reception or the general admission show.
