Paige and Jeff

April 15, 2017

This wedding is the ultimate proof that springtime can produce pretty weddings too… Just look at those blooming April flowers!

How did you two meet?

We worked together during the summers at a college payment plan call center in Warwick.

How did you get engaged?

I am a singer and Choral Director, and love Christmas. Jeff took me to Faneuil Hall in December, when they have the “Blink” show running. He said we were meeting friends for dinner that night, so we stopped in front of the big Christmas tree. The show started, and the lights on all the trees started moving to the Hallelujah Chorus, and I turned around and he was on one knee. My sister was hiding and took pictures of it!

Tell me about your planning process.

We had a really smooth planning process! Our team of vendors was so wonderful.

The hardest part was choosing a season to get married in. I am a teacher, so we wanted to find a time where we could honeymoon right away and still enjoy an outdoor wedding. We were so lucky that we had great weather!

But the easiest part by far was choosing our photographers. We saw their photos in a few look books at Linden Place and knew that was the style we were going for! We loved the look of the photos and knew they would match our vibe.

What made you decide on Linden Place for your venue?

We wanted an interesting venue and we also wanted a beautiful spot that could accommodate a ceremony on site. We loved that Linden provided a lot of different spaces that we could use. We loved the beauty of the grounds at Linden Place, as well as the house, and the carriage house and tent for cocktail hour and reception. We loved that guests could move through these spaces throughout our event.

I loved your bridesmaid dresses! Did you coordinate them or did you let the ladies have at it?

All of the bridesmaids wore the same Watters gown, but my sister and I wanted her to look different, and we fell in love with the two piece look from Jenny Yoo. The flower crown was her idea!

Was there any significance behind Jeff and his groomsmen’s choice in socks?

Bristol is home to the oldest Fourth of July Parade in the country, and Jeff is a Marine, so that equals a match made in Heaven! We knew we needed pics on the route and we knew he needed the matching socks!

Paige, did you always know that you wanted do a first look with your dad? It looked like such a sweet moment!

I didn’t always know I wanted that. After I purchased my dress I found out that he didn’t want to see it until that day. I thought it would be a nice moment for the photographers to capture between the two of us.

Can you tell me more about the lighting of the unity candle?

I was raised Catholic, but Jeff does not practice any religion, but I wanted some traditional elements in the ceremony. The unity candle signifies two souls and families joining as one. The candle has a biblical quote “And the two shall become one” written across it, and the tapers had our initials. The candle is displayed in our new house too, which is a lovely reminder of our day!

What was your first dance song?

“Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur.

What did you do for your favors?

We gave the guests Lindt Easter chocolates in boxes as favors because we got married the day before Easter Sunday. Those are the carrots, they were too big to fit, so we hung them on the bar!

Was there a vendor that you were particularly impressed with that day?

We really had an amazing team working with us! We had a wonderful day of coordinator from Russell Morin and Linden, but we have to say M. Studios captured our day so beautifully. We are still hearing wonderful things about that day!

What was your favorite moment from that day?

When we had our private moment together walking down the aisle as husband and wife.

Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?

Take time to enjoy the planning process, and remember at the end of it all, you’re marrying the person you love most.
