Christie Tasca and Joseph Williams

Christie Tasca of Scituate and Joseph Williams of Naples, Florida are set to wed on October 19, 2019 at the Rosecliff.

How We Met

Our love story began in Tampa, Florida on a rooftop at a place called Fly Bar. A mutual friend of mine from childhood happened to move to Tampa, and introduced Joe (his coworker) to me. I noticed Joe began joining our friend group after our first acquaintance and eventually he asked me out on a date. Our first date was at the Columbia in Tampa. It was filled with lots of delicious food…especially my shrimp substitute that unknowingly cost an extra $12.00 that Joe will never let me forget. Over the next few years, we continued this adventure doing long distance while I was in anesthesia school. I never knew my heart could love a person as much as it loves Joe. I count my blessings each and everyday that God brought such an amazing man into my life. We have been so lucky to be able to finally share a home together in Miami.

Our Proposal Story

We both flew up to Rhode Island, where I grew up, for the 4th of July. My aunt and uncle were kind enough to invite us out on their boat for a beautiful day on the ocean. We ended our perfect day of fun in the sun with dinner at the New York Yacht Club, looking over the ocean and the Newport bridge. The view was breathtaking! My cousins had been using their GoPro all day, so having it out at dinner didn’t seem the least bit strange. We decided to take an after-dinner walk down to the shore where all of the boats were sitting perfectly under the setting sun.
As we headed toward the end of the dock, I realized my cousins were lagging behind us (pretending to take lots of pictures). Toward the end of the dock, Joe grabbed my hand and, next thing I knew, he was trying to get through his loving speech and was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen! As a little girl, I always admired my mother’s pear-shaped ring, and now I had my very own perfect pear-shaped engagement ring!
I can’t even remember every sweet word he said because I was so caught off guard and wrapped up in the moment! It meant the world to me that I got to say “yes” surrounded by family and friends in the state where I grew up . Better yet: we are hosting our rehearsal dinner at the New York Yacht Club in Newport to relive that beautiful proposal day!
