Paul and Lindsey

Paul and Lindsey are set to wed at the Quidnessett Country Club on April 13, 2019.

The Meet-Cute

Paul and Lindsey initially met when they became coworkers at Outback Steakhouse in 2012. At first, it was all work and no play; it took Lindsey a whole year before she was open to the idea of dating her future fiance. “It took a lot of hard work to convince her, but it was worth it,” Paul says. Lindsey is also grateful for the experience, adding, “If not for Outback, we would have never met because Paul is from East Providence and I grew up in Cranston.”

The Proposal Story

After dating for five years, Paul knew that he wanted to propose. “But all of those romantic comedies put a lot of pressure on us guys to make it perfect!” he jokes. When a couples ski trip to New Hampshire made its way onto their winter calendar, however, Paul knew it would be the perfect setting for his movie-worthy moment. “It just made sense,” he says. “New Hampshire is special to Lindsey, January was the month we started dating, and we were going with special people in our lives.” Paul ended up carrying the ring everywhere on the trip, but the timing only felt right on the last night when everyone broke out the board games (one of the couple’s favorite pastimes). “I turned to Lindsey and asked, ‘Do you want to be my partner?’ She said ‘sure,’” Paul recalls. “Then I got down on one knee and said, ‘No, will you be my partner in life?’” Once Lindsey recovered from the shock, Paul got his (much more enthusiastic) yes.

The Engagement Session

Originally, Paul and Lindsey weren’t 100 percent on board with the idea of an engagement session. But, when they realized that it was already included in their wedding photography package, they figured why not. “Plus, our photographer, Michelle, made a great point that it’s like practicing for the big day. We could get a feel for what style of photos we like,” Paul says. The couple ended up snapping some gorgeous shots at Colt State Park in Bristol, and now they would recommend a session to any engaged couple who is on the fence.
